Iva M. Thomas Dies; Former UBA Nurse

Mrs. Iva May Thomas, 61, wife of Charles R. Thomas, died late Monday at her home, 878 Sixtieth St. SE. Born in Lawrence, she came here in 1908 and two years later was graduated from the nurses training school at the former UBA hospital.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Robert W. of Detroit and Herbert of Grand Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Hoorn, Miss Dorothy and Miss Margaret Thomas, all of Grand Rapids; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Viola Fry of Cadillac; a brother, Rev. E.E. Branch of Grand Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Amanda Lawton of Ellsworth and a granddaughter, Janice Hoorn, of Grand Rapids.

The body is at the Metcalf mortuary, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Mr. Branch will officiate. Burial will be in Winegar Cemetery.
